Nice to meet you here! I’d like to share my career and life journey with you.

2013-2016
In 2013, I came from China to Melbourne as an international student, starting at RMIT University Foundation Studies. In 2016, I successfully finished my bachelor's degree from RMIT University, which is known as the No.1 design school in Australia. With a major in Visual Communication Design, that's where the rollercoaster of my design career took off!  🚀✨
2017-2019
From my second year at university, I dipped my toes into the graphic design pool with a series of part-time jobs. In my final year, the design lead of a mobile app design and development agency named Gridstone (they're in Collingwood, Melbourne, by the way) discovered the work I posted on Dribbble and offered me a UI/UX designer internship opportunity! I worked there part-time for about 1.5 years, focusing on public safety-oriented app design. In the meantime, I pursued a continuous master's degree at RMIT University. In mid-2019, I graduated with distinction, gaining a Master of Business Information Technology degree, and secured a new position at a Fintech startup called LUCA Plus.
2020-2022
After working onsite six months at LUCA Plus, I flew back to China for a family reunion during the Chinese New Year in early 2020. Just when I thought I'd be rocking holiday vibes, bam! The Australian government decided to close the border due to the Covid-19 outbreak. What did I do? Well, I turned my bedroom into a workspace and rode the remote work wave for a whopping 2.4 years! Who says work can't have a bit of unexpected adventure? 🚀💻

Lumio, previously called Foenix, was a social media analytics company that helped brands like Audi, David Jones and Red Balloon source legitimate influencers for social media campaigns.

“We were essentially the Instagram police and called out fake influencers left, right and centre. It was fun and all, but there is only so many bikini chicks you can look at on Instagram before you start losing your mind.”

Dan, Co-founder and CEO of Lumio

August 2022
While working remotely from China, a global architecture engineering consulting firm reached out to me via LinkedIn, ended up sponsoring me for a working visa, and facilitated my return to the Melbourne office.

“After this, we both took up golf on during the week and started eating fancy dinners at the local Country Club... Ha. This is not what happened at all. We suck at golf and love eating Guzman Y Gomez.”

Adam, Co-founder of Lumio

February 2023
I kicked off my very first business trip to London in this global company! 🎉 Engaging in a series of design-focused workshops, I collaborated with colleagues from around the globe and had the opportunity to communicate with the company's top-level leadership.
November 2023
However, after working there for 1.4 years, the plot thickened—cashflow drama hit because some large government infrastructure projects got the axe in the post-Covid era. As a result, they made me redundant, and now I'm on the lookout for a new full-time job opportunity based in Melbourne. 💻💼
